Purpose
Develop, lead and deliver pro-active and effective Human Resources functions in support of the business needs within the organization.
Responsibilities
Compensation and Salary Administration
- Participate in the development of compensation programs that serve as attraction and retention mechanisms.
- Manage manufacturing compensation programs, ensuring pay activities are within guidelines, are equitable, have proper approvals, and are processed promptly.
- Manage performance evaluation process to ensure quality of appraisal and documentation, and consistency with company standards.
Safety & Workers’ Compensation
- Act as primary interface for workers’ compensation between insurance carrier, medical providers, and company management. Work collaboratively to minimize loss. Responsible for individual case management.
- Coordinate statutory testing through external resources and insurance carrier to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with external regulations.
- Responsible for OSHA reporting.
- Coordinate disability reporting for location.
Staffing
- Manage employment process for manufacturing to include resource plans, recruiting strategy, etc. Ensure prompt staffing of all openings with top quality hires within approved budget.
- Manage internal job posting process for all openings.
- Ensure employment process is fully utilized by management to include: requisitions & approvals, job descriptions and job evaluations, proper pre-employment screening and security checks prior to any internal or external offers of employment. Communicate/coordinate offers of employment. Ensure that effective interview methods are used.
- Ensure that termination process is followed per company policies including review and approval, and is in compliance with all applicable laws & best practices.
- Maintain Manufacturing Affirmative Action documentation. Responsible for working with management and employees and all external recruiting sources and affirmative action organizations and agencies to effectively implement on a continuing basis.
Employee Relations
- Facilitate an organizational climate that encourages and supports employee development and a positive work climate, and promote and assist with the coordination of employee activities and programs.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with managers, supervisors, and leads that result in effective consulting on issues.
Organizational Development
- Assist management in identifying and resolving organizational issues which are barriers to achieving business objectives.
- Provide needs assessment and training recommendations to management.
- Facilitate effective teamwork, providing coaching and guidance to individuals and groups for organizational issues.
- Provide leadership to employees in a manner that encourages high levels of performance, individual development and commitment to achieving department and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with management and team on implementation of World Class Manufacturing.
Administration
- Establish and maintain accurate employee records.Utilize full capabilities of HRIS system, producing management reports as needed. Ensure its timely, complete, and accurate maintenance.Maintain necessary legal documentation as part of all HR processes.
Security
- Implement and act in accordance with Gemalto’s information security policies.
- Protect Gemalto assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
- React & help resolve security events or security risks reported by employees.
- Ensure responsibility is assigned to the individual for actions taken.
Requirements:
- 3 – 4 years HR Generalist experience, preferably in an industrial environment.
- B.A. or B.S. in Business with major in Human Resources or equivalent.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience working in or implementing LEAN and Six Sigma.
- Must have excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- Position would suit an HR Generalist previously working as part of a larger group and now looking for the next step in their career.
