Description
The HSE Specialist reports to the Baker Atlas (BA) HS&E Manager, for North America Operations. The role of the Sr. HSE Specialist is to support the Baker Atlas North America Coastal operations and ensure compliance and conformance with applicable HSE regulations, Baker Hughes HSE Policies and its HSE Management System.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The HSE Specialist reports to the Baker Atlas (BA) HS&E Manager, for North America Operations. The role of the Sr. HSE Specialist is to support the Baker Atlas North America Coastal operations and ensure compliance and conformance with applicable HSE regulations, Baker Hughes HSE Policies and its HSE Management System.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assume the lead role in the development and deployment of appropriate Performance/Program Standards outlining minimum HSE expectations.
- Develop and execute HSE objectives, targets, strategies and action plans, in conjunction with appropriate client groups, to ensure conformance with Baker Hughes’ HSE Management System.
- Develop, execute, facilitate and participate in BA’s internal and external HSE assurance and auditing programs and conduct root cause analysis of safety incidents.
- Development and implementation of BA’s integrated HSE data management system (First Alert).
- Monitor and comment on HSE Federal Regulations while defining the impact to the BA organizations.
- Lead role in the development of internal and external HSE communications.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- BS in Health & Safety, environmental science, engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years progressive experience with HSE Management Systems, HSE Auditing, HSE Statistical Analysis or related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to write in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Desired Qualifications:
- Practical experience and understanding of HSE regulations (federal and state), audit programs and HSE Policy and Standards development.
- HSE certifications/designations.
- Background in and practical experience with the CAA, RCRA, OSHA, SARA, and TSCA .
- Background and practical experience in Health & Safety management systems, risk management, behavioral safety and root cause incident investigation techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze multi-faceted situations/problems/concepts along with the capacity to venture beyond core competencies.
- Active interest/ involvement in professional HSE organizations.
- Effective interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced setting, along with the ability to be a strong team player on cross.
